Bears chop down Redwood in nonleague girls lacrosse action

Annie Payne scored 6 goals and the Menlo-Atherton girls lacrosse team beat visiting Redwood-Larkspur, 16-12, Thu in a nonleague game.

Emma Easton added 4 goals for the Bears, who beat the Giants for the 1st time in 4 years.

Grace Tully scored the 1st of that person 3 goals fifteen seconds into the contest but Redwood went on a scoring frenzy and led, 7-3, by the middle of the 1st half.

Things started going the Bears way, with Bea Geaghan-Breiner sparking the rally by winning 6 ground balls off the draw.

M-A hosts Dougherty Valley and Burlingame on Tue and Thu respectively, at four pm.

Matthew Peery turned in Pinewood’s lone win at No. three singles.
